Nothing is more important, nothing is more healing, and nothing is more wanted than love. No matter how you look at it, love is always the answer. So much so that on a spiritual level, love is who we are. It’s in our ‘DNA’. As spiritual beings, we are made from love energy and no matter how we behave here on Earth, on the other side, love is eternal. So, we can never, ever be anything else.
On a physical level (here on Earth), love is sporadic at best. Some of us seek it all our lives and never find it. Others, can sometimes find it but then lose it. And then there are the luck ones who feel it everywhere they go.
One of the unique things about love is that everything else is irrelevant. Your love for your partner, as an example, is often everything you need. And you’ve probably heard phrases like “… all I need is you” and “… love conquers all” in movies and literature, right? Well, that’s for a good reason. When someone is in love and they say “… all I need is you”, it’s such a powerful statement, because it acknowledges one thing… the power of love.
The power of love cannot be underestimated. Wars were won and lost over love. Mountains moved and perhaps galaxies conquered. The strong emotional connection that we have with love drives us with an insatiable appetite for more, and more.
But, if we could just step back for one moment and image what would life would be without it, it’s hard to see the light from the darkness. Such a dark place would forever attract destruction, hate, and negativity to such levels that it would be extremely hard to imagine life at all. Would there be any reason to live? And would you consider such an existence perhaps meaningless?
Some people might argue that having absolute power is something worth striving for. OK, but what then? Where do you go from there? For example, let’s say that you rule the world and you have everything you ever wanted. You sit at your thrown in awe of your achievements. You look at all the gold, diamonds and other material things you now own. The people around you are in fear of you for they now must obey your every command. Wow. You have everything… but, do you, really?
The problem with having power, and not love, is that power is artificial, synthetic, or a very poor substitute when compared to love. Power is often something people strive for when love becomes illusive or hard to find. Basically it’s a temporary ‘fix’, just like a cheese sandwich or a cup of 2-minute noodles is to someone who’s hungry for a lavish meal. Ultimately, love is what we really want. It’s the ultimate experience we can have, whether we are human or otherwise.
The rich and famous have often described their lives as feeling empty. Their achievements and wealth fail to provide contentment or any meaningful fulfilment. And the richer, more powerful, or famous they are, the less satisfied they feel.
But, what about those who have no love, no wealth, no power and certainly no power. Do they feel satisfied or content? Well, it would be hard to ague that they do because they’re clearly unlikely to even be happy. However, everything changes the moment such a person has love in their life. In fact, add love to any situation and the level of contentment skyrockets.
The power of love is immeasurable
Love cannot be measured in the same way as money can so, this should not come as a surprise since the level of love for one person could be valued more, or less, by another. This doesn’t necessarily mean that we all value love differently, it’s more likely that circumstance is also having a say. Prolonged absence of love or, being surrounded by love all the time, can raise a person’s sensitivity to it and how they percieve it. The saying: ‘absence makes the heart grow fonder’ is indeed relevant and appropriate.
